ColorMe's Founder, Ziba Youssofi, was a stay-at-home mother of two young children who found herself struggling to find the time and energy to visit makeup counters at the mall. While shopping at more frequented retailers like drugstores, she began exploring alternative makeup choices. Faced with no testing samples or reference points, Ziba became frustrated with the challenge of finding her shade in other brands. After purchasing multiple brands and colors of foundation based solely on the appearance of the liquid in the bottle and still failing to find a suitable match, Ziba conceived the idea of a straightforward tool that could assist consumers worldwide.

Teaming up with her longstanding friend and now business partner, Nadia Kelly, who joined as Co-Founder to ColorMe, they collaborated on researching foundation products, brands, and shades. Additionally, they conducted focus groups using test samples on a diverse range of models spanning various ages, skin colors, and types. This focus contributed to validating matches achieved between shades.

The end product is ColorMe, a platform enabling all foundation users to shop confidently at any physical retailer or online using their current brand and shade as the basis for matching with other brands and shades.
